Looking back and moving forward
Every organization benefits from thoughtful reflection with the end of one year and the beginning of the next. Waggl is no different, and as we look ahead to the lofty goals we’ve set for 2018, we’re also reflecting on the progress we’ve made and the lessons we’ve learned in the past year.
2017 was a remarkable year of growth within the Waggl organization. For the third year in a row we doubled the number of members on our team. As we grew, our core values were stretched, and enriched by the variety of opinions and backgrounds present. Keeping these values relatable and a bit elastic has allowed us to mature in a way that feels true, and provided a work environment where everyone has a voice and feels emotionally safe and valued.
The very utility of the Waggl platform is closely tied to our core values, so in 2017, to be sure we were indeed staying true to our ethos, we invited every member of our team worldwide to join us in Waggl HQ to team-build and discuss what the values meant personally. After spending time together we realized we had evolved beyond some of our earlier values. For example, scrappiness had been one of our core values early on, which has now developed into thoughtful resource allocation. There will always be an element in Waggl that drives us to accomplish things by pouring in pure grit, but our growth has allowed us to have a little more freedom and strategic decision making.
Fun fact: Scrappy is also the name of our CEO Michael Papay’s beloved family dog, and therefore never far from our heart.
In 2017, we also doubled our customer base. Our platform has evolved considerably as large enterprise clients join our client roster, and we’ve significantly increased the number of people our platform can support simultaneously.
We’re honored to continue to reach more and more people who have valuable insights to offer their organizations.
New premiere brand clients in 2017, like CenturyLink, have moved towards a culture of continuous listening transformation. We’ve been proud to introduce Waggl as an employee listening platform inside other new client organizations including Delta Dental, MGM, Stanford, and Deloitte.
This year, several major large healthcare systems have begun using Waggl to transform the nurse and employee experience. Waggl is being successfully implemented inside several top-tier health systems including Sutter Health and UCHealth. Since we pride ourselves on being the most human way to crowdsource feedback, it is an honor to become the go-to platform for an industry committed to human betterment.
Other exciting developments to the Waggl platform include more robust customized reports for managers, allowing leaders to see engagement inside every sector of their organization. We’ve developed kiosks to allow non-desk frontline employees a way to have their voices heard and share valuable insights. People can now participate in a Waggl in five different languages, a development spurred by our expansion in the global marketplace.
Our organic growth has been spurred by doubling down on our commitment to our core values. More rewarding still, is sharing those values with our customers and partners. Together we’re sharing insights and cultural transformation which is progressive and human, and it feels good to know that the way we’re changing organizations and leadership is about more than just the end result. The journey we’re all on together is one of continuous listening and ongoing betterment.
Now, moving into 2018, we sharpen our focus as a team to elevate our strengths while expanding into new organizations worldwide. We look forward to strategizing how we can continue to become not only the most human way to crowdsource feedback, but the best choice for organizations committed to continuous growth. From all of us at Waggl, we wish you a very happy New Year.
