That’s why Waggl is hitting the road to participate in a number of exciting events over the course of the next few weeks. The festivities will start with SIOP 2017, the 32nd annual conference of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, in Orlando, Florida. SIOP 2017 will bring together some of the sharpest minds in the industry for informative talks, networking opportunities, and invaluable professional development sessions. On Saturday, April 29, Waggl CEO, Michael Papay, will participate in a panel discussion entitled, “Focusing in on Driving Action in a Shifting Survey Landscape,” along with spokespeople from Denison Consulting, Glint, the International Institute for Management Development, and The Gallup Organization. Next up is the HR Symposium in Santa Clara on Wednesday, May 3rd. Dedicated to “The Employee Experience and the Future of Work,” the annual HR Symposium event provides a learning space for local HR professionals to grow, develop, and connect with each other. Esteemed HR leaders from every industry have graced the stage to share their insights, challenges, and best practices through engaging and inspiring conversations. The keynote speaker for the 2017 HR Symposium will be Chris Yeh, the co-founder and General Partner of Wasabi Ventures. Chris has founded, advised, or invested in over 100 high-tech startups since 1995. He is also the co-author, along with Reid Hoffman and Ben Casnocha, of the New York Times bestseller, The Alliance: Managing Talent in the Networked Age, and the co-founder of Allied Talent, the official provider of The Alliance Framework for helping organizations better recruit, engage, and retain entrepreneurial employees. Chris earned two degrees from Stanford University and an MBA from Harvard Business School where he was named a Baker Scholar.
The HR Symposium’s very own Bindu Garapaty will conduct an on-stage interview with Chris, during which he will share his insights on employee experience and company culture. As the authors offer in The Alliance, the employer-employee relationship is broken, but it can be fixed by viewing employees as “free agents” who are “allies in a tour of duty.” We look forward to this enlightening and inspiring discussion.
The HR Symposium also features an exciting line-up of panelists, including Dawn Sharifan, who currently leads People Operations at Slack Technology; Liane Hornsey, Chief Human Resources Officer at Uber Technologies, Inc.; Kelly Dragovich, the Senior Vice President of People at Hired; Margaret Wheeler from Stitch Fix; and Britt Sellin from Cloudera. Panels will be moderated by Jeff Diana, a seasoned executive with more than 20 years of experience in the human resources field who serves on several boards for progressive HR technology companies, including Smashfly, Everwise, Impraise, and SmartRecruiters. Last but definitely not least, Waggl will participate in the 2017 ASU + GSV Education Technology Summit in Salt Lake City on Monday, May 8. The ASU+GSV Summit is billed as the “only conference during the year where you’ll have access to the smartest and most influential Learning and Talent Tech minds from around the world.” Michael Papay will make a Venture Presentation about Waggl on Monday, May 8 at 1:00 p.m. On Tuesday, May 9, our Chairman, Jeff Snipes will moderate a panel entitled, “The Future of Employee Engagement and Retention is Now!
